Hi,
Currently i am working on performance appraisal and i have certain doubt which i want to clarify.
Here is the case:
In annual appraisal process, if an employee gets 16% hike for 8 months performance.
then how do we calculate it?
It is to be on pro rata basis OR flat 16% for 8 months?
Regards,
Ritu

Hi Arpita,
Hope this will be of some help to you:
Performance Appraisal is a tool to find out the working and achievements of a Resource in an organisation wherein the feedback is taken from variants like Self, Peers, Immediate Supervisors, Managers.
90 degree Appraisal is the feedback given by a resource (self appraisal) along with the feedback from one of the variants mentioned above.
180 degree Appraisal is the feedback given by a resource (self appraisal) along with the feedback from two of the variants mentioned above.
270 degree Appraisal is the feedback given by a resource (self appraisal) along with the feedback from three of the variants mentioned above.
360 degree Appraisal is the feedback given by a resource (self appraisal) along with the feedback from all of the variants mentioned above.
540 degree Appraisal is the feedback given by a resource (self appraisal) along with the feedback from all of the variants mentioned above and also includes the feedback from external customers or clients.
720 degree Appraisal as the name suggests is the 360 degree twice and is given by a resource (self appraisal) along with the feedback from all of the variants mentioned above including pre and post intervention result. The 360 degree appraisal is the first step (pre Intervention) and after the resource is provided with certain amount of training in the areas identified during the appraisal the second step comprising of the post intervention is taken up.

Hi Ritu,
Salary hike can be made on different basis. e.g. based on past perfoprmence or annual salary increment as per company's policy but irrespective of that hike is generally done for future salary. So if a person gets 16% increment and if we assume his salary is INR1,00,000 p.a then revised salary will be INR 1,16,000 p.a and monthly INR 1,16,000/12.
I don't think for how many months he is working is at all important for calculation of revised salary unless otherwise specified.
