Hello Everyone. I am doing policies and countermeasures on how to prevent and or minimize employees absenteeism. Does anyone can help me with this. What are the effective measures for this problem.
Thanks

Dear Wilfredo,
For Engineers and Management Staff, the best thing to do is to start with counselling them. If this does not improve then put an Attendance Clause in the Performance and promotion system which will have effect on Increment and Career Growth.
If nothing work go in for Disciplinary Action as per Company Rules. Absenteeism has been accepted as a category of Indiscipline.
As for the workers put incentive schemes which will reward workers with extra pay if they reach a certain percentage attendance in a month.
If absenteeism continues then take action as per the Labour Laws of your country.

Hi,
What you can do is try to find out the cause why people are absent their may be many reasons on knowing the reason you can have a action plan or we can discuss it or you can have a policy where people who remain absent their salary would be deducted. People coming regular would be entitled for a benefit that you can decided...
Any queries can revert back to me.

Hi Wilfredo,
As per my practical experience through counselling rate of absenteeism can be controlled to some extent and the other way to plan about strict disciplinary action if possible.
Even i have found that in one of my privious organisation, 2 employees are terminated for absenteeism, but no improvement is found and organisation is providing more or less the maximum facilities to their employees.
thanks

Hello All!
I have recently accepted an Administrator postion at a child care facility where absenteeism is a major problem. I need to put a policy into effect to deter employees from calling out so frequemtly. It is imperative that staff be present as we have to follow state regulations pertaining to teacher/child ratios. Any ideas will be of great assistance
