I have one doubt. Our organization has two Ex-Service Employees are there. They have Ex-Service Card (Health, canteens & Identity card).
They are "Eligible or Not" for Esic. And their Salary is Grass Rs. 9000/- & Rs.6000/- per month.

As per ESI Act, you need to cover them under ESI.The Act does not give exemption for such cases, i.e. where few ex-servicemen are employed amongst many other employees coming under ESI cover.

Hi,
They were Ex- Serviceman. hence those privileges. But when they are in pvt services they have to be governed by all the enactment applicable to other regular serviceman. ESI will be applicable to them.

Dear,
you can add any employee which is under the upper limit of the salary or wages i.e. 10,000. Every employee can get the benefit of the ESIC under this limit and the procedure is same.

being an exservice men i found its my duty to clarify the querie shot by you
The exservice men are provided with medical card as a part of post service welfare scheme which comes under the mistery of defence's sub division zaink welfare
Exservice men are provided with card to take up the medical assistance from the near by zainik hospitals and in palces where such facilities are not exisiting they were reimbursed by rs 100 as compensation
It is imperative to say that this previliage is awarded not only to him but also to his family
ESI act pertains to the wefare of the employees concerened to paricular factory , this is an insurance scheme not any kind of previlage
The canteen facilities aare totally irrelevent to any factory act

The health scheme you have referred to is ECHS applicable to ex-servicemen who are entitled to pension. The ECHS is a new scheme started in 2003 and even those ex-servicemen who retired prior to April 2003 are entitled to becoming members on payment of a sum dictated by the pension drawn.
The ex-servicemen employed after their military service and entitled to ESI have the added advantage of using either scheme for themselves and their families. Yes, the smart card issued to them is common for ECHS and canteen facilities. Again canteen facilities are a special privilege to serving and retired servicemen and their dependents.
I am an ex-serviceman who took premature retirement after 22 years in the Army and am currently deeply involved in my passion - HR.

I am also an ESM and presently running a security ageney.
All ESM are being forced to pay ESI.This is ridulues as they are already member of ECHS which is compulsary.Logially person will get admited in only one hospital then why should he made to pay at two places.Recentlly PAU won a case against ESI on the ground that if they have their own full fledged hospital then why should employees pay ESI.ESI for ECHS card holders should be optional and not ompulsary
