Dear Kiran Goel

Let me take your questions one after the other:

How to calculate Training mandays and what should be the ideal training mandays per employee in the company?

This actually depends upon various factors such as Competency mapping, training need assessment (must include Responsibility, knowledge, ability, skill and experience analysis), quality and quantity of workforce, and performance appraisal.

How much of employment cost of an employee should be the training cost?

I am expecting seniors to throw light on this question. As fas as I understand it depends upon the monetary strength, budgetary allocation, approach (planning and implementation), usability, welfare, vision of the company.

How to calculate the total cost incurred on Training per program?

This can vary as per the demand and what quality of trainers a company has. Almost all big companies have their dedicated training wings. some also have their training and research divisions. Some have very good set of trainers from various background. Some have monotonous set of trainers with poor diversity (generally they seek frequent external trainers / consultants for training needs). Many companies hire external trainers for more exposures. Small companies generally outsource their training needs or manage with limited resources.

There is another aspect too, training never means class room trainings only but it also includes other methods like exposure visits, experts visits, use of high quality gadgets/equipments/tools, which are the cause of high training cost. Now use of such tools and methods depends upon companies budget, reach as well as utilization too.
