Hey poonam well i think that leaving the job would not be right option specially at this time when recession is going on.. i feel you should discuss this clearly with your director before taking any decision.

Hi Poonam
Please not such things are quiet possible in a manufacturing Industry where preferences are always for the Production & Finance guys and HR/IR is the least who gets last minute information. It is up to us to cope with such situation. It is better you involve whole heartedly with little bit flexibility. Please start appreciating their efforts and praise for each & every small thing. YOU WILL SEE THE REVERSE EFFECT. Over a period of time, they will come to you for solution and that day is going to be yours. Just relax and enjoy continuing your job. Wishing you all the very best.

Ponam,

You have to understand your role as administrative assistant to the Director of Engineering and He should not consult you because it's not mandtory as you being recruited as HR to assist him in adminsitrative role due to his pre occupation in technical matters which simultenuously deals with human resources issues too...

Your position and role in other words job description is not appropriate to your desire and exceptations this is problem but you have to work within the delegation of authority and span of control as per work culture and meantime you can impresss your boss to gradually takeover that decision making from your boss by your skills and building confidence it will be great craftsmanship and art to do this... And believe me this is where you are lacking....

Your misconception is that you are HR person and by virtue of this position you should be delegated this authority but organizational complexity of hierarchy and intricacies
did not allow this to happen and you become frustrated just because of your inexperience to evalute your position and constraints of your boss he cannot delegare this authority as he did not enjoy confidence on your decision making...

Now rest is up to you....This is not the one but most of the people like you face this kind of situation and doesnot read properly. You firt step into your boss's shoes and understand his position whe he upset or frustrated with you.
