Dear Colleagues
Do any of your organisations have a policy wherein the employee can own the laptop he/she is using for official purpose? Like we had a scheme where the employee can pay X sum of money over a peiod of 3 yrs and at the end of 3 yrs can own the Laptop.
Pls respond soon as this is fairly urgent.

Dear Nancy,
This question looks interesting. How does a laptop loan work? Here are few suggestions:
  1. Form a laptop and data security policy and mention the clause of damage and stolen for laptops.
  2. As Nikhil have suggested you may consider the option of monthly deduction, but you need to take care of that tax deduction. How far this can be treated as a similar reimbursement such as a car loan, that needs to be cleared by the finance team. The bills and other purchase needs to be produced for this amount to be made tax free.
  3. A sample policy with terms and conditions for laptop and data security has been mentioned in it.
