Seasons Greetings. Can anyone tell me the existing max pf limit (i.e. 6500/-) when it changed from 6000/- to 6500/- ? Our organisation is deducting pf @ 12% above Rs.6500/- basic salary and now org. want to reverse it ? Is it possible for us ?

Revision in wage ceiling had done in 01.06.2001 from 5000 to 6500.
see, if employer is deducting pf @12% and keeping the limit as Rs6500/- , then it's ok.
But if they are looking to reverse it to older ceiling, it is not possible.It is totally against the law. your organisation can't do this to u. if they tend to do it , they have to face huge PF liability/or company might be black listed.
