Dear Seniors,
I've been working for a software company for the past 1.5 yrs.. I've seen a lot of techies go abroad.. But haven't seen anyone from the HR team going abroad.
I want to know the names of companies that send employees working in HR abroad.
If I want to apply for a job in the US, what are the requirements/ eligibility criteria and what are the chances of getting hired in the US?
Thanks in advance,
Regards,
Sriram

Hi Sriram,
I hope you read the news paper and watch BBC news, are you aware of the recession taking place in US with the weakening dollar and natural calamities striking every now and then.
This is what life is. Im struggling to come back to India and work as the economy is booming and you want to leave the country and travel to US.
You are lucky to be in Bangalore and working in IT company, dont go with the fantasy of travelling abroad and working. You realize only once you are there that what have you done for yourself.
In London and US racism is increasing day by day, people are getting killed due to racist attacks.
Anyways sorry Im not demotivating you, Its just a harsh truth which you need to face.
So be happy for what you have and where you are

Hi Sriram,
Unlike IT jobs where the same knowledge is applicable in all countries, HR jobs require country specific knowledge too apart from universally applicable concepts. Labor Laws are very different from country to country. You need to have a formal education in those laws, and they have their own certifications such as SPHR, GPHR etc.
Also, my freinds who are working abroad say that managing workforce diversity or implementing policies in a different country seems like too much of a challenge as you are always seen as an outsider from an under-developed country trying to boss over them.
Hence, not many prefer HR jobs outside. You can try with a few consultancies who cater to international clients such as MaFoi and Adecco. But chances of getting a HR job are very bleak especially if you want middle or senior level positions.

I know this is an old thread but if anybody is looking for "onsite opportunities in abroad" google the phrase in quotes. It is an amazing service for people looking to go abroad for onsite opportunities in international companies.
