hi, do all organisations ( atleast well known ones) always ask for a relieving letter from new joinees? or can one do without it and just display the offer letter and salary slips.

Zat depends on the type of organisation and on how good ur friends with the HR, if the HR is ur friend, relative then no need of even interview also, direct joining :)

Dear balbe35,
The purpose of relieving letter is to prove that u have officially resigned from your last company and u have cleared all dues from that company. If u r not producing your relieving letter , it means that u are still working with company and your dues are not cleared or u have not served your notice period.
Another reason to ask for relieving letter is to confirm that u r not doing DUAL EMPLOYMENT. For example, u got a offer letter from some company and after joining that company u did, nt like the culture or the roles and responsibilities u can always go back to your company if u have not submitted all documents( resignation letter, relieving letter).
Considering all those facts , every company wants to have releiving before joining.

hi katyana,
hoping you r doin good... i had a query regarding this. I have recently joined a health service company. here many people have not submitted their relieving letter, so when i asked the person who was looking after all the personal files she said we have not taken that purposefully bcoz the salary of many staffs is not sufficient so they can work outside to earn extra, n therefore relieving letter is not asked. is this right?
