HAI,
FOR THE OLD EMPLOYEES, UAN IS GENERATED BY THE DEPT. EVEN IN THIS CASE, EVERY EMPLOYEE HAS TO UPLOAD AADHAR (not aadhar no. but the enrolement No. available in the aadhar card) AND KYC AND THE SAME HAS TO BE DEGITALLY SIGNED BY THE EMPLOYER.
FURTHER FOR THE NEW JOINERS, AADHAR IS MUST TO GENERATE THE UAN ALONG WITH THE BANK PASS BOOK. THEN ONLY UAN WILL GENERATE.
IN NEAR FUTURE, WITHOUT THE LINK, THE CLAIM MAY BE RETAINED AS IT IS GOING TO BE ONLINE CLAIM SETTLEMENT.

Dear associates,
I know that linking Aadhaar is must. But what about if someone doesn't link it. That's my query. It's mandatory. But if someone doesn't do it what will be the repurcusssations.
You said claim settlement will be retained if Aadhaar is not linked. Is this the only problem that the employee is going to face or there are some other issues he might face or the organization he is working in can force him to link aadhaar.

Dear ANNONYMOUS ,
As you are old member of EPF, EPFO has generated your UAN.
To get the benefit of the EPS, you need to provide Aadhaar. If you leave this present job and joined another establishment, new employer will ask for Aadhaar no, failing which he will not be able to link your UAN to present employer, as result, cannot pay the contribution to RPFC.
IF you retired in the same establishment, on the date of retirement for getting the pension, you need to give Aashaar no linked to UAN, failing which not able to withdraw EPS as service is more than 10 yrs. If less than 10 yrs service, may be able to withdraw the EPS.
Thanks,

Dear Anamika, your question seems to be fallacious. You asked, what if you do not link your AADHAR number with your UAN, right?
Let me ask you how did you get your UAN?
The process of getting or generating UAN is the following:
You have to open/login EPFO site. You have to select Member UAN / Online Service, then AADHAR Based UAN Generation (remember here: only employer can initiate non-AADHARbased UAN Generation).
Now you have to put your 12 digit AADHAR number in the respective boxes and also your mobile phone number (linked with your AADHAR number only) in the respective field. An OTP will be received in your said mobile number. You now put that OTP for UAN generation.
Therefore, there is no qquestion of not putting or linking your AADHAR number with your UAN.
Your UAN is borne with the AADHAR seeding process.
Perhaps you have not gone through this actual process and so do not know your UAN is as unique as your AADHAR.

Now this question is worthless because the deadline of this extend but in future it will be mandatory because Indian government trying to link every business, bank accounts with the aadhar card or udhyog aadhar card to regulated the flow of money. it will also help you to change or transfer ffrom old company to new one.
