Hi,

I suppose you are doing this for fresh candidates. Please indicate what kind of tests, skill evaluations you are doing and on what process.

If the objective is to test the skills on a machine then a plain testing would do on machines for specific components with five to six parameters. This definitely should not take 20 days. the same applies to majority of the manufacturing processes unless it is a continuous process industry where your testing of 20 days will not lead you anywhere.

If you are testing their learning abilities then you must be teaching them some thing new which they have not learned at their technical school. In that case you can give short term training of specific period with a stipend.

If your training engagement letter, skill/ module-wise evaluation is explained at the beginning of the testing/ assessment and if agreed by the person to undergo such training then there would not be any issues. You need to indicate the of kind of proficiency you look for , from those who are taking these tests.

Kind regards

Deepak,
when in doubt, we take the instance of the govt, the govt being a model employer.
lets move on to the other end of the spectrum.
the army/ civil services hires people, puts them through the paces and trainings may last several years. till then they are non productive..
but they are paid full salaries.
Point No 2: you asked another question which has been answered in MBNQA 10 years back..
let a prospective employee spend half a day in the job he is going to do.
period.
if he likes the work, so be it.
point no 3: you are not able to gauge the skills of people ?
thats is wat testing is all about ....
kindly read about Belbin/ Watson & Glaser/ PSI/ RSI or other ability tests to help you make a better choice..
