Dear Colleague,

Relocation expenses reimbursement is normally done as part of Talent Acquisition Expenses. It originates from Attracting Talents to an organization as per Internal People or HR Policy. It is a common practice to give a locking period for 6 months or one year and if some talent leaves they have to pay it back to the company as part of retention procedure. It is to be adhered or else the company may delay your relieving process. It is common that the Talents get it compensated from the next employer as part of negotiation. You may also try that from the company you are going to join. Leaving an organization within 1 year is not welcomed and in future kindly think sound on this.
