Good Afternoon All, One of my staff has been diagnosed with Leukaemia, 7-8 months back but has declared it to HR now. How can a employer deal with such Staff. What kind of support can we provide her apart from financial help. She is covered under ESIC. Kindly advise.
Thanks & Regards

Dear Sunita,
Hats off to you and your management for generously coming forward to extend support to an employee afflicted with Leukaemia a group of blood cancers. It is certainly a killer disease for in 2015 alone it has caused the death of 3,53,500 people. It involves prolonged treatments like chemotherapy, radiation, bone marrow transplant which are not only expensive but also very painful. Therefore, apart from financial support, prolonged moral support to the patient/employee is required from all including family, employer and fellow employees.
