My company has 3 factories and one office (registered office) in Maharashtra. My company also has 1 factory in Rajasthan, one factory in Telangana and one factory in Haryana. My company needs to register in Maharashtra only or it has to register separately for separate state and deposit deducted Profession tax in diff. states?

Hello Ananddas,
You have to have separate registration under Prof.Tax for every state. And thus only you can deposit the PT recovered from employees working in respective state(s). You should also note PT rates differs from state to state. And some states PT totally not leviable. For your guidance you should refer PT act of respective states (Maharastra, Rajasthan, Haryana, Telangana) and adopt rates prescribed therein.

Thanks Kumar S. ,
As i read there are 2 registrations, one for deducting Profession Tax (PT) from employees' salary and another for paying PT by company.
So we have to get these 2 registrations separately for separate states ?
Thanks,
Regards
