If monthly gross is 15k, PT deduction will be Rs. 200/-. But if that employee is absent and his gross for that month is below 10000/-, what will be the PT deduction 200 or 175?

This is actually not a monthly deduction. It is on annual income. Just rework on the slab.

Dear Deshpande,
In monthly basis P.Tax States:
Professional Tax recovered from the employee Earned gross salary for the particular month. In case employee getting salary less than actual due to loss of pay, then the P.Tax deduced from whatever slab applicable for the earned gross salary.

In Tamilnadu the professional tax are calculated on half yearly basis, hence the total wages for the six months should be taken into consideration and calculated.
