Dear All
Recently I saw an ad by a very prominent Pizza chain. It stated "Required Delivery Boys" Salary Rs.6000 per month.
I need to know how do they legally bypass the minimum wages requirement. What is the process to do so?
Regards
Bipin

Dear Bipin,
I am not able to find out the real purpose behind your question for at times such dubious practice which is though illegal almost attracts every one's attention. No offence, please, since I take your question with a positive note only. I presume what is mentioned in the ad is indicative of the approximate total earnings per month by way of commission or service charges rendered for the total deliveries rather than wage/salary in the sense of regular employment. Actual facts would, perhaps, be divulged only when the prospective candidate shows his interest for such engagement. In such cases, they would not be shown as employees but as individual contractors for delivery in order to escape the payment of minimum wages. My informal and kind chit-chat with the delivery boys of LPG distributors reveal the secret behind such practice. What is surprising is that such delivery boys earn more with their continuous attendance by way of more commission and tips as well.
