Dear members,
I came across with the article written by Carmine Gallo, who is a keynote speaker and author. The article says:
In his 2018 annual letter, Amazon founder and CEO Jeff Bezos repeated his rule that PowerPoint is banned in executive meetings. What Bezos replaces it with provides even more valuable insight for entrepreneurs and leaders.
In his letter, and in a recent discussion at the Forum on Leadership at the Bush Center, Bezos revealed that "narrative structure" is more effective than PowerPoint. According to Bezos, new executives are in for a culture shock in their first Amazon meetings. Instead of reading bullet points on a PowerPoint slide, everyone sits silently for about 30 minutes to read a "six-page memo that's narratively structured with real sentences, topic sentences, verbs and nouns."
After everyone's done reading, they discuss the topic. "It's so much better than the typical PowerPoint presentation for so many reasons," Bezos added.

A very good message Divekarji. Power points came as a technological aid following its predecessor - transparent slides.
Many 'platform shy' people found a good alternative in these gadgets. All that they needed was to show their back to audience and start reading the slides one by one.
The slide reading act took a further sliding when they found it convenient to get them prepared by someone else.
On the day of presentation they would make attempts to read the slides for the first time. Getting stuck was no problem, as some good thinking member of the audience would bail them out.
The power points are best used for illustrations and for ease of understanding. However they cannot take the lead and reduce the role of the speaker to that of a simple reader.
Often in TTT programs in particular, emphasis is given on how a trainer should hold a session in a total power failure situation.
A well prepared, capable trainer takes the lead by himself and uses the aid in a limited way. He gets his job done effectively and also wins the respect of the audience.
Thank you very much for sharing this message. Hope many members will read this message, get benefitted and do a proper presentation.
