Hi,
Yes, you need to consider rejoined employee as a new employee and do all the necessary formalities from the allocation of employee number, issuing him employment letter with new joining date etc., Even his service will not be counted. Only positive in this case is employee is familiar with the company and work. And vice versa

Hi
I agree with avani . The employee will get a new employee number and will be considered as a new employee for all purposes , including joining letter and other formalities .He may retain his old PF account number , unless he has withdrawn it .

Riji,
There may be two type of cases:
1. Reinstate of employee: If employee resigned from service but did not joined any organization and requested management to reinstatement him back. Its upto management, if management approved his/here reinstatement the it will not affect his service or benefits. This case may happen immediate after resign within notice period.
2. Rejoining after long period. In this case employee will be treated as new employee and all the formalities and procedures will be taken accordingly.

It will not make any difference if the employee has already worked with you or not. Every appointment is a new appointment and hence, everything will be new. New offer letter, new appointment letter...new employee code.
