Dear PBS,
The law which is made for gratuity and the provision made in this for the limit of gratuity (Rs. 3.5 l maximum) it self is a gazette notification. As it was decided by the govt. authority while making this law which contains the board of members from the Labour ministry.
I hope it is clear.

Dear Mr. Amit ji,
Every ammendment of the act, there is a notification. Just like Bonus cealing ammendment notification recently. Without gazett notication 'NO' act should be ammended.

As per my knowledge of course the max. limit is 3.5 lakhs but a company can get it increased acc. to its requirements and dat is approved by law, bt the amt. above 3.5 lakhs is taxable.
If I m wrong plz correct me.

Now there is a bill to raised the gratuity limit to 10 lacks . The bill is introduced in loksabha.Copy attached regards pvg
