Dear Seniors,
My management want to make a attendance policy as " if an employee has not registered the attendance within the stipulated time frame and did not inform the admin./Office in-charge about his/her late arrival, a "late mark" will be put on the day against his/her name, a late mark will be put on the day against his/her name. Three "late marks" will be considered as one-day leave and the same will adjusted and deducted against the monthly pay.
Is it right?

Dear Vikash,
All the policies are made, so that the employees adhere to the office times and not take it for granted, for all the genuine reasons, the employee is always granted the benefit of doubt. But if the person, is always late, than yes he has to be penalized and the above rule is right.

The above rule is right on disciplinary grounds. If no rules to bring in discipline then the employees will not adhere to the timing and this is a proven case.
Yes also reward for on time and no absenteeism also has to be encouraged by your HR. This will motivate the moral of the employees.

As per the standing orders act (100+ employees) if an employee reports later than 15 minutes of duty time, he can be turned away
