Charliez - The shift allowance is based on duties that begin after a specified time and is calculated on a per day basis. For example, someone doing a 7PM to 4AM shift gets an approx. allowance of 'X' per day of this shift timing.
This usually applies when there are rotational shifts. For someone that is doing a constant shift of the same timing, the shift allowance is mentioned as part of the salary.
