Hiii, I got an offer letter post my interviews and discussions which I duly accepted after resigning from my current company. However I got a call from the company from where I got the offer stating that they were going to put my selection on hold for an indefinite time period stating that the person on whose place I was selected has taken back his resignation. My current company won't let me take my resignation back as they have already selected my replacement. In this situation there are chance of me being jobless once my notice period at current company expires.Request you to help with the situation.

This is a very awkward situation for you to be in.
Go ot the company and clearly explain that based on their offer and your acceptance, the employment was confirmed.
You have further taken steps to hand over your responsibilities of previous job.
To avoid getting into am embarrassing state.
The intervention of higher management will have to be sought from your side.
Put your problem in writing to the new company.

If your current company has not accepted your resignation, you may immediately withdraw it. Merely selection of your successor does not mean that offer might have been sent to him. You may personally contact that selectee for requesting needful, if possible. If nothing matures, pl come up.
Thanks
Sushil
