Dear Seniors,
There was an accident occured in our construction site yesterday,and one of our contractor employee dead.
in this scenario what is the responsibility of principle employer and is there any information to be given to any labour department.

Certainly yes. Since the matter involves payment of compensation as per Employees Compensation Act either by the contractor or by the principal employer, informing the Labour Department is a prerequisite in such cases. Usually, before removing the corpus from the accident site, the presence of labour Officer is required.

Yes.. You should inform to Factory Inspector as well as Labour Inspector, Factory inspector will inspect the site.
