Loss of pay is leave taken without pay.
this can happen when;
1. You have used all your earned leaves and taken another leave which will become leave without pay because of unavailability of earned leaves in your leave balance.
2. If you have taken leave without permission/ approval then also this leave becomes leave without pay even if you have earned leaves in balance

First of all khambe ji thanks for your reply. You mean to say that deduction against working days. If we leave on Monday to Saturday & we have no leave balance then the deduction will be against the leave that is called loss of pay.

Mr.Nitish,
Exactly. When you are not having any leave into your credit your absence with or without leave shall be treated as LOSS OF PAY. If you applied leave when there is no balance into your credit leave shhall be granted leave without pY WHICH IS CALLED As Authorized absence If you are going on leave without permission or sanction of leave shall be treated as Unauthorized absence which may leads to misconduct . Always take the leave with prior permission or sanction of leave irrespective of with pay or without pay.
