Hi All,
Do companies like IBM, HCL holds your educational certificates until you relieve from the company in a proper manner? In my company we have a candidate who says that his/her certificates were being hold by the company and he/she has to pay one month of their salary to retrieve the certificate. Worked with IBM Gurgeon, Delhi, in a php process. (not sure)/

I was doing a search on the internet.
There is only 1 post by a lawyer who says the IBM may ask to retain original documents as security of those they are providing specialised training and that it would be legal under American law (only for purpose of security). I think if this was being actually done, then there would be more references to it.
One way would be to call IBM hr and ask them.
But do you want to hire someone who left a company like IBM without notice ?
