I segregate all professional and personal works in three categouries... 1 Productive works 2 Maintenance works 3 Developmental works The most important is the third one which is often ignored by people. They only concentrate on the first one...

I agree with you. If you are not developing your business or your products or service, you are preparing yourself to be outdated. Greatest example is of BPL. BPL tvs are now not in much demand, whereas beofore 15-20 years they had monopoly in indian market.

Dear Sir,
I agree with you. If people in a particular department are not developed the performance of that department will not go up as also it may also not perform up to the expected levels.
If one expects producitve work to happen then first developmental work has to happen. When people join an organisation thay have to be trained, inducted first so that they can be productive. Thus development work is first and then productive work will follow.

We can segregate even personal works...For ex. Service or Business to earn money can be kept in Productive work categoury, All cleaning, wall painting, washing etc are maintenance works. The personal developmental works may be book reading and implementing the things in our actions.
The last one is rarely followed by people in general.
