Hello All!!
There is just a query, I need to discuss on.
In most of the companies, including mine, we expect the employees to give a notice period of 1 month, before leaving the company. The fact is that, no new company waits for 1 month for an employee. And, due to this, what happens is, employees resigns without giving a notice period, as they know that, they can't give a notice of 1 month, and if they continue to come for some more days, it will not be fruitful, as they will not be paid for those number of days by the company.
I want to know, is it right and a practical decision to reduce the notice period by an employee to 15 days? Or is there any other manner, where we can prevent employees from leaving in a day.
Looking forward to see responses.
Thanks & Regards!!

Dear Rupali,
According to me Notice Period is some thing which facilitates the company to plan for replacement for the position which is going to be discharged, Company in that Notice Period would recruit an individual & see that the work is properly delgated & familiarised by the relieving person to the inducted person.
To tell you there are many companies who will wait untill the employee gets properly relieved & in worst cases they are not bothered abt proper relieving formalities & even compensate the employee with Notice period amount.
Once the individual has given a relieving mail, we can no more expect him to be fruitful if he is going to stay for 10 days are 1 month.
I feel there is nothing the company would benefit or lose if you reduce the Notice period to 15 days.

Thanks Srilatha!!
My mail concern is to avoid employees leaving the job in 1 day, as this definitely effects the company's process. Thats the reason I wanted to know, if there are other options available to it.
Looking forward for more replies.
Regards!!
