I am in the process of structuring the HR department hence -
1) Need an HR PPT format showing the current HR situation and then build up from there.
2) Also need a PPT format showing linkage between comp & Ben thereby affecting performance....

Please have a look at the Dave Ulrich website - I think it is called RBS or something like that. It will give you a good framework for thinking through how you want the HR function organised for your company, industry, type of manpower/capabilities and its current business priorities.
Other sites which will help may be the websites of the Big 4 consultants - Ernst & Young, KPMG, Deloitte, PwC. Also of the HR firms : Towers Watson, Mercer, Aon Hewitt.
You may also like to distinguish among these 4 aspects:
Strategic: HR plan, how you want to attract, retain, motivate (engage) and energise (reward/grow) your talent, manage change, etc.
Operational: Sub-functions within HR: Recruitment & selection, training, IR, payroll, employee relations, communications, etc.
Tasks: Reports and returns to Govt., attendance records, payslips, etc.
