Dear Hemang,
The exhaust fan type and specifications are not defined by any law or any IS standard.
The direction can be based on hazard identified.
What you need to consder for selection of an exhaust fan is ..
1. Capacity in CFM
2. Pressure drop
3. The nature of chemical for which the vessel is used.
4. In some cases you need to purge Inert gases to de-contaminate the effects of the chemical.
5. May be you need to have a forced circulation. (put additional blower to purge air)
6. Usually the conditions would be given in the MSDS of the chemical being stored.
Hope this clarifies.
Thanks & Regards,
Sudhir
