Hi Please help,

In my office, present leave policy is like this.....

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Casual Leave: 6

o Employees will be entitled to 6 days CL in a year

o Will be 1 day for every 2 months, it will be credited at the

beginning of every two month slab

o Minimum: 0.5 day / Maximum: 3 days

o CL can be combined with EL

Sick Leave: 6

o Will be 6 days for the entire year

o It will be credited at the beginning of the year

Earned Leave: 12

o Earned from January - November of each year, @ 1 EL for

every 20 days worked

o Minimum: 0.5 day / Maximum: 3 days

o EL can be combined with CL

*Note: *

* Request for leave of 3 days should be sent to managers atleast 1

week in advance

* No leave can be carried forward into the next year

* Any leave combined with the Annual Leave will be at loss of pay @

no. of days x 2

* Leave will be applicable on prorate basis for new joiners

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have doubt that..

1) Weather sick leaves should be 'earned' as similar to earned leaves? is the only difference between El and CL is that, granting the Sick leaves in the begining (of the year) itself?

My managers are trying to bring the changes that seems almost looks as Casual Leave policy stated above.

If we do it,would it be legal?

Pls help..

Sunil.

Hi Revathi,
For leave letter we are not following any particular format.
For approval we have a card in which the type of leave and reason will be mentioned and in that the approver puts his signature to indicate that the leave is granted to that particular employee.
Regards,
Sunil.
