Dear Meenu, There was a discussion to increase the MLs to 6 months. But no order from the Government has been issued so far. Hence, we shall continue to have the MLs for 84 days, till further notice.

Saw ur request late ? ML has not yet been revised, officially. Yes ! the govt is discussing to make it for a 6 months period...But wait for an official confirmation, till such time the old act applies ie, 80 days mandatory working is required & 12 weeks pre & post rest would apply..... happy mothering :-)

Hi guys, It only 12 weeks of ML. It is the choice of the employee now to take this 12 weeks as they wish. First it was 6 weeks of prenatal & 6 weeks of post Natal.

Dear All,
There is no such amendment in which it is written that it is extended for 6 months.
However, A female employee can take 12 weeks leaves as maternity leave.
The 6 weeks first to be taken in pre-delivery stage and the other after delivery.
Hope this information will help u.
Regards
